File the FAFSA by the February 1 priority date (available beginning October 1 each year).

Apply or update your profile at ScholarshipUniverse by the February 1 priority date (opens in early autumn each year).

After filing the FAFSA, watch for your BuckeyeMail account for updates from Ohio State. Additional details on status updates and requirements, like verification and documentation, can be found through buckeyelink.osu.edu. Click on My Financial Aid, select the aid year and click the To Do List tab.

Review your financial aid package and final costs for the year. Click on My Financial Aid at buckeyelink.osu.edu and click the Print Financial Aid Summary button in the Aid Summary tab.

Apply for private or Parent PLUS Loans to fully cover your cost of attendance (allow 3–4 weeks for these loans to process).

Sign your university housing and dining contracts, if applicable.

Review the health insurance requirement and select or waive Student Health Insurance coverage. (Waiving will require proof of alternative coverage).
