The Unchained OSU Fashion Show tells the story of an overcomer of human trafficking through three stages: innocence (dusk), violence (midnight), and restoration (dawn). The story is told using garments, music, facts, and poetic narration. We partner with students and community members to put on the show with students as models and volunteers. The goal of the fashion show is to increase awareness of human trafficking both locally and globally. We hope to empower models, volunteers, and attendees with the necessary education, training, and tools to identify and report the crime, and to join the abolitionist movement. Through this attendees will learn what human trafficking is (awareness), what red flags and factors that lead to trafficking are (accountability), and what can be done to stop trafficking and help overcomers (action). Admittance to the event is a suggested donation: $10 for OSU students and $15 for non-students. We are raising money for the Strategies for Success Scholarship Fund, which assists women who are overcomers of human trafficking in pursuing higher education. All donations and raffle ticket sales will go towards this scholarship fund. Anything you are able to give is appreciated.
