On 10/13 RHAC will facilitate an event in College green for on-campus residents involved in watching movies and learning about LGBTQ+ culture, during which students will watch the movie ‘Moonlight’ via public performance rights on Kanopy. They will also be offered catering from a local LGBTQ-owned business.

Come join us to hear Siddhart Garava, Software Engineer at AWS talk about how to build AI Agents!

Calling an LLM is easy. Building an agent that can choose tools, remember progress, recover from errors, and prove that it completed a task requires real software engineering.

In this live-coding session, we will start with a basic model call and progressively build a tool-using investigation agent. We will add structured tool definitions, a planning loop, state management, error handling, and a small evaluation suite that tests whether the agent selected the correct tools and gathered enough evidence.

Along the way, we will examine where the model should make decisions and where deterministic code should remain in control. Students will leave with a working reference implementation and practical patterns they can reuse in hackathons, personal projects, and production AI applications.

In celebration of National Health Equity Week, Voices of Equity will be hosting a Virtual event featuring Dr. Martin Shapiro, who is a Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and a physician, health services researcher, educator, and author whose work has focused extensively on healthcare access, health disparities, and the organization of the American healthcare system. 

Following Dr. Shapiro’s keynote presentation, Voices of Equity will host a panel discussion on cardiovascular health equity. The panel will bring together perspectives from medicine, patient advocacy, clinical service, and health equity to discuss how cardiovascular care can become more accessible and equitable.

We will start our event by celebrating and wishing everyone a happy birthday who celebrated their birthday in October. After we celebrate this, we will have a celebration to allow people to take advantage of an in-game perk of Friday being a trading event. This will be an eat and greet event, essentially, where our members can share their Pokémon Go skills with all participants. We will also have a PvP tournament where the winner receives a Pokémon Go gift card at the end. Anyone who does not have access to Pokemon go will be able to use the provided accounts to fully participate in every activity.

The Who’s that Pokémon event will start by welcoming all participants and feeding them. We will then educate them on the various more popular Pokémon by going through them and explaining a piece of information about each one. For example, we will talk about Pikachu and how you can tell the gender of it by looking at whether the tail has a heart or a lightning bolt on it. After we do our info session on the various Pokémon, we will begin a competition between all attendees that is an opportunity to test their knowledge. The winner of this competition will be awarded a prize. We will judge them based on accuracy in a set time frame, and will only include Pokémon that are covered in the event.
