Center for Belonging and Social Change

The Student Life Center for Belonging and Social Change (CBSC) supports students in finding a sense of belonging by engaging them in educational opportunities that prepare them to become global citizens who impact the world through positive social change. Through cultural and intercultural celebrations, heritage and awareness events, dialogues and workshops, student leadership and cohort meetings, wellness initiatives, and social justice engagement courses, students have access to a wide range of offerings that will fit their needs.

Family Matters: College transitions

In this playlist of 2–4 minute videos, First Year Experience staff help families and support networks prepare to support their student at Ohio State. Student Wellness Center

Overview

The Office of Student Life’s Student Wellness Center promotes student success through a holistic wellness model incorporating the 9 Dimensions of Wellness. The Student Wellness Center offers free programs and services to support all Ohio State students. Watch this session for an overview, or find more detailed sessions on specific areas below.

 

Alcohol and drug resources

Substance use can affect your development, so it is important to understand how to engage in a safe and responsible manner if you decide to use. The Student Wellness Center offers individual and group substance use and recovery support. View this session to learn more about our coaching programs and Collegiate Recovery Community.

 

Financial resources

It is important to know how to budget, to understand credit, to know how to navigate student loans and to plan for the future. View this session to learn more about resources including financial coaching and an on-campus food pantry.

 

Mental health resources

Proactively taking care of your mental health will improve your academics and overall college experience. The Peer Access Line and wellness coaching are two free services that take a positive approach to mental health using holistic wellness, strengths and positive psychology to help you build the skills to achieve your goals and overcome challenges.
