How to purchase a surface lot day pass (if not parking in a garage)

For most buildings, you'll park in a nearby garage, receive a ticket when you enter the garage and then use our discount code to pay when you leave.

However, if you'll be in Kottman Hall, we recommend purchasing a surface lot day pass to park in the Ag Admin surface lot. To purchase a surface lot day pass, you’ll need to create a CampusParc account. Read on for instructions.

Surface lot day passes:

• Are valid in any A, B, C or CX surface lot space on Central Campus, or any WA, WB or WC surface lot space on West Campus.
• Provide access for one full calendar day, from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
• Do not provide garage access.

To create an account:

1. Go to osu.campusparc.com.
2. Click login in the top right-hand corner and then Visitor.
3. Click Register if you don’t have a visitor account.
4. Complete the form and click Register.

To purchase a pass:

Note: You'll need a credit card and the license plate number, make, and model of the car you'll be parking on campus. You can wait to purchase a permit for a rental car once you pick it up.

1. Log in with your username and password.
2. Click Compare Permits/Buy a Permit and select Motorcycle (even though we know most of you won't be riding a motorcycle to campus!) and then click Purchase below it.
3. The next page that should pop up is titled Online Permit Sales: Select a Term: Use the calendar icons at the bottom of the page to select your start and end dates. (We recommend only paying for your first day of orientation this way — since you may park closer to your first session on Day Two. However, students who drive themselves and stay overnight should pay for both their Day One and Day Two dates this way.) Click Next.
   (Note: Day passes are valid for one full calendar day – 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. – for each date that you select. Only purchase a day pass for dates you intend to park in a surface parking lot. Day passes are not refundable after their effective date.)
4. Select Surface Lot Day Pass.
5. Add your vehicle information below and click Next.
   (Note: Your license plate will serve as your permit. A physical pass will not be issued. Ensure the license plate you’ve entered is correct to avoid citations.)
6. Select Credit Card as your method of payment and agree to the terms. Click Review.
7. Confirm the information, then click Submit.
8. Enter your payment information and click Pay Now.
